TrygFonden contributes to Case Danmark
Case Denmark is the story of a country that has achieved significant developments in resuscitation by bringing together many partners and setting a clear vision for the cooperation. In 2001, 19.3% of the Danes responded with bystander CPR when they witnessed an OHCA. In 2014, the figure had risen to 65.8%.
TrygFonden wants to raise bystander CPR to 85%. If successful, Denmark will be the country in the world with the highest CPR rate.
The activities of TrygFonden on emergency medicine are based on scientific research. TrygFonden have supported the establishment of four professorships in emergency medicine and one in stroke. In addition, TrygFonden have supported more than 50 detailed studies in the subject since 2001.
Connecting AEDs so bystanders can save lives
In 2008, TrygFonden founded the Danish AED Network, the first nationwide system in the world where private and public owners of an AED can register and enable emergency medical dispatch centers to help bystanders to the nearest available AED in case of OHCA. In 2017, more than 15,500 AEDs are connected and available for 5.7 million Danes to save lives. And they do. Meet TrygFonden in the EMS2017 exhibition area to hear the full story.
Help break a record for life
Hoping to build on the threefold increase in survival rates in the last 15 years, TrygFonden and four medical students from SATS – the Students’ Society for Anaesthesiology and Traumatology – and FFF – a group of 300 dedicated medical students that teach school children age 12-16 resuscitation and first aid abilities – wish to set a world record in resuscitation on the first day of the EMS2017 congress, the 22nd of May.
For the first time in history, TrygFonden intends to establish a world record that requires CPR to be performed – both in large quantity and of high quality.
TrygFonden are aiming at 5000 participants on a total of 14 locations all over Denmark, making the event a national record attempt. As a special arrangement, one of these locations is the EMS2017 congress, where TrygFonden invites all attendees and staff to participate.
Join the record for life on 22 May at 9.00-21.00. You can participate in the record attempt in the EMS2017 exhibition area.
